Just so you know, I am not kidding when I go on effusively about the artistic wonder that is Jason Prigge.
Point in fact, in just a few moments, he doodled this self portrait on the Etch-a-Sketch. I'm usually impressed when I manage to make a staircase on the Etch-a-Sketch. A self-portrait is a whole other animal and skill set. And pretty darn cool. The man has talent.

This lovely 8x10 is delicate and gentle and features the Manitowoc River as viewed from Manitou Park. "Manitou" means "Great Spirit" and the Great Spirit is certainly present in this inspired piece. I apologize that the photo was snapped after dark with my mobile phone and does not fully capture the the awesomeness of color, brushwork and emotion portrayed in this piece. Good thing you can view at the exhibit.

30 Paintings in 30 Days by Artist Jason Prigge featuring the Manitowoc River
Here we are at Day 7 of Jason Prigge's project of creating 30 Paintings in 30 Days featuring the Manitowoc River. This piece was created at an off-the-beaten-path location along the Manitowoc River. Have I mentioned that Artist Prigge executes most of his work in oils on panel en plein air? This holds true for this project. Each piece is being created on location along the Manitowoc River. To date, we've seen the urban river, the river at sunset, rapids (Lower Cato Falls). Today we see the river flowing. Just being. Aren't the colors fantastic? The colors go well with the dynamic brushwork. The style of this piece is more abstract than the Day 1, 2 and 4 pieces.
It reminds me of the piece "Forest Through the Trees" created in the fall of 2010 just below.

Again, the urban river. This time featuring the bridge house and the 8th Street Bridge.
It's funny, a good friend was marveling that a chicken can produce an egg a day. And Jason commented, "I produce a piece of art a day."
